As part of my project, I created a side-by-side comparison of the user experience (UX) for SMS OTP and TypingDNA Verify 2FA. SMS OTP (one-time password) is a traditional 2FA method that requires the user to receive a one-time code via SMS to authenticate their identity. In contrast, TypingDNA Verify 2FA utilizes behavioral biometrics, such as typing patterns, to authenticate the user’s identity without the need for an additional code. The side-by-side comparison allowed for a clear demonstration of the differences in UX between the two methods. The SMS OTP flow was shown to be more time-consuming, as it required the user to switch between apps and manually enter a code. In contrast, the TypingDNA Verify 2FA flow was seamless, with the user simply typing a few characters to authenticate their identity. Furthermore, the use of behavioral biometrics offered a higher level of security, as it is difficult for attackers to mimic the unique typing patterns of an individual user. Overall, the side-by-side comparison helped to demonstrate the benefits of using TypingDNA Verify 2FA over traditional SMS OTP methods, highlighting the increased security and improved user experience.
